PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES

       Upon completion of the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Health Information

       Technology, students will be able to:

 

  1. Perform quantitative analysis of health records to evaluate compliance with regulations and standards.
  2. Analyze clinical information in the health record to validate coding accuracy.
  3. Practice professional and ethical principles required by program /
    University and clinical practice site policy and AHIMA’s professional code of ethics.
  4. Conduct an analysis of the electronic health record for compliance with certification standards.

       Upon completion of the Certificate of Applied Science Degree in Medical Coding Specialist         

       students will be able to:

 

  1. Perform quantitative analysis of health records to evaluate compliance with regulations and standards.
  2. Analyze clinical information in the health record to validate coding accuracy.
  3. Practice professional and ethical principles required by program /
    University and clinical practice site policy and AHIMA’s professional code of ethics.
