Important phone Numbers

All members of the University Community are encouraged to report all on-campus criminal incidents, emergencies, and suspicious activities to the University Police Department in a timely manner.

Any student or employee who wants to report an emergency, or suspicious activity, or a crime should do the following:

Dial 318/670.6349 or extension 6349 from any campus phone. A University Police Officer can also be reached by dialing cellular #318/286.6647. The person reporting the crime should be prepared to give their name, the nature of the crime, and the exact location.

You may also stop by building "J" located between the Student Parking Lot and the Johnny Vance Student Activity Center on the East Side of Campus and report or discuss any of your concerns during normal business hours (08:00-5:00pm) Monday through Friday with members of the University Police Department.

In matters of a criminal nature, officers of the department when appropriate may make an arrest, however in some instances and depending on the severity of the crime; the Shreveport Police Department and/or the Caddo Sheriff's Office will be called for assistance. A copy of the "Crime Incident Report" will be provided to the following individuals and departments:

  1. University Chancellor
  2. Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration
  3. Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
  4. External Law Enforcement Agency if necessary
  5. In-house University Police File.

Members of the University Community while encouraged to report criminal incidents to the University Police Department may also, on voluntary and confidential basis, report criminal incidents to the following Offices:

  1. Deans
  2. Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
  3. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

Reports made to the above Offices are filed with University Police for information purposes only and are not investigated, but are included in the University Crime Statistics.

318-670-6375 - Jaguar Watch: A Crime Information line (Crime Stoppers) that informs the campus police of confidential notices of criminal activity.

318-673-7300 - Shreveport Police Department (non-emergency) 

911 - Shreveport Fire Department and Police (emergency)

A Crime Log - It is maintained by the University Police Department, highlighting incidents and crimes that occur on campus. It is available for public viewing during regular business hours at University Police Building "J", located on the East side of our campus, 3050 MLK, Jr. Drive, next to the Student Parking Lot.

Anyone with information warranting a timely warning should report the circumstances to University Police by phone at any time or by visiting their building during normal business hours (8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday)
