Dr. Rodney Ellis appointed to serve as a member of the White House Board of Advisors on HBCU’s

Dr. Ellis was recently appointed to serve as a member of the White House Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. On June 13th, 2019 he was sworn in during a ceremony held in Washington DC.  The purpose of this particular board of advisors is to advise the President, through the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (Initiative), on all matters about strengthening the institutional capacity of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).  

Dr. Ellis also serves on the Louisiana Advisory Board for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).  Louisiana’s Advisory Board is under the jurisdiction of the Board of Regents.  This Board focuses on ways to strengthen the capacity of HBCUs to provide the highest quality education, increase opportunities for HBCUs to participate in and benefit from state programs, and ensure that Louisiana has the highest proportion of college graduates from HBCUs in the country.
