What a soulful day at Southern University at Shreveport! Students, faculty, and staff gathered for a special Tiny Desk Concert hosted by Groove Magnolia and the SUSLA Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Jibri Houston, featuring special guest Sarah Gardner.

On Earth Day 2026, the Southern University at Shreveport Louisiana community gathered with purpose, passion, and plenty of fresh soil to officially launch Rooted & Rising at MS KICK: Community Cultivators – KICK’N It in the Garden—a dynamic initiative designed to connect community, sustainability, and workforce development through hands-on garden stewardship.

The Small Business Center and the Roy Griggs School of Business at Southern University at Shreveport proudly hosted “Level Up: CEO Talks and Student Showcase”—a powerful celebration of innovation, ambition, and entrepreneurial spirit.
