SUSLA Aviation Student Flies High

Aircraft Technicians are in high demand

Adrian Clark, a recent Aerospace Technology graduate, has accepted a generous job offer from PSA Airlines. PSA Airlines is a regional airline based at Dayton International Airport in Dayton, Ohio and operates as a subsidiary of American Airlines. Southern University at Shreveport is in partnership with PSA through their Preferred Maintenance Student Pathway Partner program which provides mentorship and guidance to students pursuing a career in aviation maintenance. Mr. Clark will be working as an A&P Mechanic in Greenville, South Carolina. SUSLA’s aircraft technician program is the only program of its kind in the region.

Aircraft Technicians are in high demand, and it’s estimated that the number of airframe and powerplant maintenance positions available will increase 14.3% by 2026. The average salary in the Shreveport market is $60,000. If you are seeking an opportunity to build a career in Aerospace Technology program or to enroll, call 318.670.9590 or email Timothy Banks at tbanks@susla.edu.
