Benefits of becoming a Foster Grandparent

  • An hourly $3.00 tax-free stipend (non-taxable)
  1. Monetary reimbursement is called (STIPEND) and not income
  2. Non-taxable and cannot be count against any benefits FGP is currently receiving or may receive in the future such as (but not limited to): SS/SSI, food stamps, Income -based housing etc.
  • $3.00 a day for meal
  • Pre-service orientation and monthly training
  • Accidental supplemental insurance
  • Limited mileage reimbursement
  • Paid throughout the year
  • Annual recognition events in the community
  • Paid holidays, annual and sick time
  • AmeriCorps Seniors uniform provided
  • Experiencing the joy of making a difference in the lives of local children who need help
  • Support from volunteer station staff and FGP’s
Helping Seniors Stay Connected While Helping Kids Do Better in School

Foster Grandparents tutor children in need of support academically, socially, emotionally. We wish to nurture and instill a sense of prode in every child we tutor and mentor showing them that they are loved with a lot of hard work, they can be the best thay they can be. FGP’s pairs voluneer seniors with at risk-youth in Caddo, Bossier and Desoto parishes.     HELP KIDS LEARN!
