Program Overview

Type: Associate Degree of General Studies

The General Education concentration within the Associate of General Studies program provides students with a broad academic foundation designed for those interested in pursuing careers in education or transferring to a teacher preparation bachelor's degree program. Through coursework in the humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and communication, students develop the essential knowledge and skills needed for future success in the classroom and beyond.

Graduates strengthen their written and oral communication abilities, apply critical thinking and problem-solving across disciplines, gain an understanding of foundational educational concepts and learning theory, and integrate general education knowledge to support future teaching roles while preparing for seamless transfer into education-related bachelor's programs.
