SUSLA Faculty and Staff Receive Critical Safety Training from Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office
Over the past month, Southern University at Shreveport has conducted several events and activities to promote safety and preparedness across the campus. A key component of these efforts was a recent training session led by Lieutenant Tony LeBlanc from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s office.
Lieutenant LeBlanc provided faculty and staff with vital information on how to respond effectively in emergency situations, including active threat incidents and weather emergencies. The training emphasized best practices for safety, quick decision-making, and effective communication during crises.
The university is committed to ensuring that all employees are well-equipped to handle emergencies and maintain a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. Dr. Aubra J. Gantt, Chancellor, Captain Jeffery Ivey of the University Police Department and the SUSLA faculty and staff really appreciate Lieutenant LeBlanc for sharing his expertise and helping to build a safer campus community.
Southern University at Shreveport, let's continue to work together prioritize safety and preparedness on campus.
