SUSLA Honors Dedicated Faculty and Staff at Years of Service Recognition Program
Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) recently honored its dedicated faculty and staff at the Employee Years of Service Recognition Program at the Petroleum Club of Shreveport.
Under the inspiring theme, "Rooted in Purpose. Rich in Service," the program celebrated the profound impact of individuals who are the "very foundation" of the institution. The event was expertly emceed by Dr. Michael Hicks, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education.
Dr. Veloria Nanze, Vice Chancellor of the Division of Finance and Administration, extended greetings to attendees, setting a warm tone for the celebration. A powerful motivational moment was delivered by Dr. Tilisha Bryant, Director of Compliance, inspiring all present.
Chancellor Aubra J. Gantt commended the honorees, stating their unwavering commitment has enabled SUSLA to "grow, adapt, and flourish" through their daily work. Employees reaching significant milestones of 5, 10, and 20 years of service were recognized for their vital contributions, highlighted as the "lifeblood" of the campus, providing stability and strength for students and the wider community.
The atmosphere was further enriched by musical selections provided by Groove Magnolia, the SUSLA Jazz Ensemble.
The event served as a heartfelt thank you, celebrating not just years of service, but the lasting legacy built by each individual's purpose-driven impact at SUSLA. Special recognition is also extended to Co-Chairs Stephanie Graham and Quiana Skidmore, along with their dedicated committee, for their outstanding work in organizing such a memorable program. This new initiative, under "Reimagine SUSLA", was sponsored by The Chancellor's Office.
