Child Care Access Means Students in School (CCAMPIS)

The Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Program supports the participation of low-income parents in secondary education through the provision of local childcare service providers. CCAMPIS is funded through a grant from the U. S. Department of Education.

WHAT DOES CCAMPIS OFFER?

  • Financial Assistance with childcare costs
  • Parenting Workshops
  • A Student- Parent Network
  • Provides links to community resources and agencies

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the CCAMPIS program, students must:

  • Be enrolled as an undergraduate student at Southern University at Shreveport, taking at least 6 credit hours of classes
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Have a child or children between 6 weeks and 5 years old, for standard daycare programs
  • Not be enrolled in any other state or federally subsidized childcare assistance programs.

PRIORITY ENROLLMENT

  • Student Veteran parents will have priority enrollment
  • Student Parents of children with documented disabilities will have priority enrollment

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

When accessing the online CCAMPIS application, students are required to use their SUS email address. EX: first.name@sus.edu

  • Financial Aid Award  
  • Class Schedule and Work Schedule 
  • Birth Certificate of child needing care                                 
  • W-9 from Day Care Provider  
  • Proof of Residence 
  • Student ID
