Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) recently honored its dedicated faculty and staff at the Employee Years of Service Recognition Program at the Petroleum Club of Shreveport.

Leadership, grace and empowerment were celebrated during the Student Government Association’s annual Queen’s Royal Tea at Southern University at Shreveport. This year’s theme was “Crowned in Confidence.”

Southern University at Shreveport’s JAG Wellness Advocates hosted an empowering and inspiring event "SHEroes in the City" in honor of Women’s Month!

Jaguar Courtyard was bursting with energy during “Sunday Funday,” kicking off Spring Fest 2026 in spectacular fashion. Students enjoyed water slides and engaged in water balloon battles, creating an unbeatable atmosphere. The delightful smell of fresh grilled food added an extra layer of joy to the day! Events like these showcase SUSLA’s dedication to offering students the chance to relax, have fun, and forge meaningful connections. It was truly a Sunday to remember! The excitement is just beginning! There are many more events in store this week as we celebrate Spring Fest 2026. Dr. Aubra J. Gantt, Southern University at Shreveport Chancellor, and representatives from SUSLA joined leaders from across Louisiana for HBCU Day at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge.

In partnership with Southern University and A&M College's Career Services-Executive Director Tamara Montgomery, SUSLA was able to provide much needed products sponsored by Procter & Gamble. Chancellor Gantt, the Vice-Chancellors, and staff enjoyed distributing the items to our students.
