Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) joined by Mayor Ollie Tyler and other community leaders celebrated the opening of the Alphonse Jackson, Jr. Hall on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 6:00 p.m.

In response to the urgent flooding crisis, the Southern University System Office has issued a call to action to support our neighbors in South Louisiana and Houston, Texas. In a display of unity with our sister campuses within the system, efforts have begun to collect items to send toward the relief effort.

SUSLA was awarded a million dollar grant to develop a kitchen incubator in the Allendale community in Shreveport.
