Program Graduation Requirements
To graduate from the Radiologic Technology Program at Southern University at Shreveport, students must meet the following academic and clinical criteria:
1. Academic Performance
- Students must earn a minimum grade of “C” or higher in all professional (RADT) courses to remain in the program.
- A grade below a “C” in any professional course will result in dismissal from the program.
- Students who fail a professional course may reapply for readmission in accordance with program policy.
2. Exit Examination
- An Exit Exam will be administered at the end of the second Summer Term.
- A minimum average score of 77% is required to pass.
- Students who do not pass the Exit Exam on the first attempt will receive a grade of “I” (Incomplete) and must attend remediation sessions led by program faculty.
- Students may retake the Exit Exam up to three (3) times, with at least 30 days between each attempt, during the interim period before the deadline to remove the “I” grade.
- If the “I” grade is not resolved by the published deadline, the student will fail the course and must repeat the Seminar II course during the following spring semester.
3. Clinical Competency Completion
- Students must successfully complete the final challenge of the program’s clinical competency-based system.
- Students will be ineligible for graduation until all required clinical education components have been satisfactorily completed and approved.
