Biography:

LaChandra Wells, MHA, RHIT has served in the Health Information Management profession for eleven (13) years. Five (5) years of her career, she served as a Medical Coder III for a large acute care health facility. Over the last eight (8) years, she has served in the capacity of the Professional Practice Experience Coordinator and Assistant Professor for the Health Information Technology / Medical Coding Specialist Program at Southern University at Shreveport.   LaChandra’s teaching philosophy, “By their very nature, people are inquisitive.  The goal of education should be to encourage seeking answers, as it is in this way that we advance. I seek to facilitate this advancement of knowledge, and the main theme of my teaching philosophy is reasoned thought.”
