SUSLA CAMPUS CLOSURE - MARCH 11-12; REOPEN MARCH 14

Due to the continuing situations of inclement weather and flooding, all campuses of Southern University at Shreveport will be closed and all scheduled activities cancelled on Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12. Campus operations and classes will resume Monday, March 14.

SUSLA COMMUNITY TO "BRING HEAT" FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

Over 100 faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) will be headed to Baton Rouge on Wednesday, February 24 to participate in “Higher Education Day at the Capitol”, a rally to be held on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol at 12:00 noon. The SUSLA delegation will be leaving the SUSLA campus, located at 3050 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Wednesday at 6:00am for Baton Rouge.
Dr. Rodney Ellis chosen as seventh Chancellor of Southern University at Shreveport

The Southern University System (SUS) Board of Supervisors today named Rodney Ellis to become the seventh chancellor of Southern University Shreveport (SUSLA). Ellis was one of three finalists selected by a 14-member search committee chaired by Willie C. White III, chief executive officer, David Raines Community Health Centers, to replace the previous chancellor Ray L. Belton who was named SU System President-Chancellor last June.
SUSLA BOASTS RECORD ENROLLMENT FOR SPRING 2016 SEMESTER

Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) has enrolled a record headcount of 3,242 students for the Spring 2016 semester. This follows a previous record Fall 2015 semester enrollment of 3,174 students.
