Work Study
A Federal Pell Grant is a form of federal financial aid that does not have to be repaid. Pell Grants are awarded usually only to undergraduate students who have not earned an associate’s, bachelor's, or a professional degree. Students that are eligible for a Pell Grant can also receive other forms of gift aid (funds that do not need to be repaid).

Proof of Immunization
For students born after 1956, proof of immunization or immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus/diphtheria, and meningitis must be provided to the Office of Admissions prior to registration. This policy applies to all students entering Southern University at Shreveport for the first time and all students returning after an absence of one semester or more.

Transfer Student
A transfer student is defined as someone who enrolls at the university for the first time who has previously attended another regionally-accredited institution. The following requirements must be submitted in order to receive an admission decision.

Obtaining A User Account
SUSLA faculty, staff and students should have user accounts to Banner Web Services and SUSLA Email. In addition, faculty and students should have user accounts in the Moodle Learning System. Banner accounts are automatically generated upon employment or enrollment at SUSLA. Student Moodle accounts are automatically generated upon completion of the registration and payment process at the beginning of each semester.
